| M. Night Shyamalan was once a force to be reckoned with in popular films. His name alone on the marquee would guarantee success, and more importantly, profit. No more. Airbender has crushed whatever was left of his declining reputation. Neither story nor cinematography holds our attention while the dialogue has the viewer wondering if it was written for fourth graders. This film would have to be much better, to be labeled “disappointing”. And yes, airbender means he has power to bend air!
| Was this a film for children or adults? Who knows, certainly not the viewer. M. Night Shyamalan wrote, directed and produced this but he lost his way on every level. Every scene was too long; the acting was performed by a cast of amateurs; and the storyline was trite and predictable. It really isn't fair to “make” us pay to see such a weak film. If I didn't feel an obligation to see the entire film to give it every benefit, I would have walked out about 15 minutes into it.
