| Forget the trailers you may have seen and don't let anybody tell you anything about the film. Just go and be entertained - from the opening credits til the explosive ending. This film is 100% pure fun. And while it may be a little early, Kick-Ass will be the summer blockbuster of 2010. | A partnership between Lionsgate Films and the 2010 Sarasota Film Festival allowed for this pre-release screening. It was a popular venue and well it should have been. What a terrific surprise. Based on the trailers I had seen I wasn't expecting such a funny, well acted, tightly scripted film. Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red-Mist) and Chloe Moritz (Hit-Girl) combine their acting talents to bring a laughable (not slap-stick) though violent film to your local theater. Leave the little ones at home; it is rated R for a reason.
