| The story of a potentially washed-up country singer has a familiar theme. What makes this an outstanding film is the performance by Jeff Bridges. What a talent! He not only acts himself into an Oscar nomination but belts out all of the songs personally. Not exactly a “fun” film to watch but certainly an entertaining one, in the strictest sense of the word.
