Inglorious Basterds

Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt combine to give us a tongue in cheek send up of Nazis, war and cowboys and Indians. Like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs, Basterds is violent to the extreme; yet somehow Tarantino makes it seem not real. Another reviewer termed this film a “spaghetti western, WWII” movie. Surprisingly it’s an accurate description. This long movie will keep you gasping , shocked and laughing – all at the same time. On the order of Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino fantasizes the demise of the Nazis. This fast paced story will keep you glued to your seat for nearly 2 ˝ hours as Brad Pitt and his “gang” of Basterds romp across Nazi-invaded France searching out and scalping the hated enemy. Lots of gruesome scenes will have you hiding your eyes multiple times but all in all a good, solid film.
