| Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt combine to give us a tongue in cheek send up of Nazis, war and cowboys and Indians. Like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs, Basterds is violent to the extreme; yet somehow Tarantino makes it seem not real.
Another reviewer termed this film a “spaghetti western, WWII” movie. Surprisingly it’s an accurate description. This long movie will keep you gasping , shocked and laughing – all at the same time.
| On the order of Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino fantasizes the demise of the Nazis. This fast paced story will keep you glued to your seat for nearly 2 ˝ hours as Brad Pitt and his “gang” of Basterds romp across Nazi-invaded France searching out and scalping the hated enemy. Lots of gruesome scenes will have you hiding your eyes multiple times but all in all a good, solid film.
