| A disappointing movie starring Adam Sandler. The film meanders from comedy to romantic comedy, briefly touching upon tragedy. Unfortunately, the director never lets the audience know which genre to focus on. Ostensibly, the movie portrays the ups and downs of the life of a standup comic. Perhaps those that work in, or frequent the many improv theaters around the country would best appreciate this film. (There are cameo appearances by many standup comedians). For the rest of us, it's just a disjointed, and long, journey to nowhere.

This is supposed to be a film about funny people being funny but it really isn’t funny at all. I suppose if you enjoy stand-up comedy you might get some chuckles out of this but it didn’t tickle my funny bone. In fact, it was way too long, had a rather trite storyline and I had trouble keeping my eyes open towards the end. Oh well.
