| First rate entertainment! For those of us who watched the original series [TOS] Star Trek on TV, it’s almost a trip back in time. Better yet, we get to see the characters as even younger than they were when TOS aired in the late 1960’s.
I really didn’t expect much when I heard there was “another” Star Trek movie. After TOS, there was “Next generation”,“Deep Space Nine”, “Voyager’, and a number of full length movies- I mean how many have I seen – two? three? And from what I remember, none of the full length movies could compare with some of the best TV episodes (perhaps because they were then competing with Star Wars?) But this film is everything the others weren’t and more.
As Carol says – it’s like a visit with old friends: interesting and never a dull moment ….. while leaving you with a warm and fuzzy feeling. If you’re a baby-boomer and watched the original TV series, you’ll enjoy this more than your last high school reunion.
| What fun! If you watched Star Trek on TV and have missed your “old friends” rush to see this now. All of the familiar characters are there but you visit them in the beginning of their careers as Federation Officers. This is essentially the prequel to the original Star Trek. Go take the ride on the Starship Enterprise; you’re gonna love it!
