| Russell Crowe dominates this political thriller set in our Nation’s Capital. Also dominant throughout is the musical score of this drama, seeming at times to actually push the tension even higher.
Older movie goers will find the newsroom and intrigue reminiscent of All the President’s Men. Indeed, at times the film mirrors some of the incidents from that era – down to the references and shots of the Watergate.
| A very good cast (Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren) combined with a fast paced storyline make for a good couple of hours in the movie theater. Released just as the Pulitzer Prizes for Journalism are announced, the story of an “old fashioned newsman” following a lead, has to be a boost to the journalism industry in a time when traditional newspapers are literally disappearing from the landscape of America and its newsstands.
