Movie Review by Phil & Carol
Phil - Must See Now!Carol - Worth the Matinee Price
Chazz Palminteri stars as an aging psychiatrist experiencing a “mid-life” crisis at age 60. At the same time his oldest daughter is suffering her own “mid-life” crisis, yet some years before her fortieth birthday. We were lucky enough to meet the Director and Producer of the film and they believe it’s a “father-daughter” movie. But as the director succinctly put it: It’s also an Italian-American, big family film with no heroes and no villains. Another way of saying, a movie that involves you and leaves you with a warm glow. Screened at the 2009 Sarasota Film Festival. This film is about family, connections and dreams. Extremely well cast with Chazz Palminteri and Drea de Matteo leading the way. A “minor” in the film is Daisy Tahan, a 6 year old who acts like a teenager and is really worth the price of admission. Entertaining in all ways but length. Found myself wiggling near the end. Oh, all singing is done by the cast member, another reason to see it. Screened at the 2009 Sarasota Film Festival.
