| My bet for the “best actor” Oscar. Mickey Rourke is the movie, which in gory detail shows us a behind the scenes view of professions wrestling. Some say the career of the main character mirrors that of Rourke. True or not, Rourke is the sentimental favorite for best actor and this film provides the vehicle. Go to study his intensity
| "Everybody knows” that professional wrestling is “fixed” but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t violent and that the wrestlers don’t get seriously injured. Such is the story of Randy “the Ram” Robinson portrayed by Mickey Rourke. He is outstanding in the role and well worth the price of the rental. But be aware – it is a very difficult film to watch, unless you are into the whole wrestling scene.
And then there is Marisa Tomei; she is absolutely stunning as the female love fantasy of The Ram. A pole dancer/stripper by night, she is a Mom by day ; able to step from dancer to Mom with ease.
