| As much as I wanted to like what purports to be Clint Eastwood’s last performance on the big screen, I was greatly disappointed. In fact Eastwood provides a pedestrian performance as both actor and director, giving us nothing more than a warmed over, “mature” version of A Fistful of Dollars, mumbling hero and all. There are many better movies starring (or directed by) Eastwood – pick any over this.
| Clint Eastwood both directs and stars in this melodramatic story about a recent widower and what he perceives as his declining neighborhood. Little action carries the viewer from scene to scene but there is enough dialogue to keep it moving. What action there is tends to be disturbing but probably pulled from the “streets” of real life.
