| Basically, boy meets girl theme with a twist; he’s a vampire, she is not. You have a choice here of either reading the book or watching the movie.
The other reason to see the film if you have already read the book is to see how it actually does translate to the big screen. I think that they did an amazing job capturing the essence of the novel with both the screenplay and the casting.
