| “McDreamie” from Grey’s Anatomy comes to the big screen. Classic romantic comedy, too close to the 1997 film My Best Friend’s Wedding, starring Julia Roberts. Maybe good enough for a rainy ladies weekend rental. While leaving the theater I heard a middle-aged woman predict that Patrick Dempsey “will be the next George Clooney.” While he has the looks, his talent is yet to be tested.
| Simply put, this is a “copy” of My Best Friend’s Wedding but instead of the girl chasing the guy, it is reversed. While Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan give solid performances, this can’t overcome the fact that the theme is trite and completely predictable.
