| A difficult film to describe, mainly because of its complex characters. A fractured time line delivers just the right touch in this tragedy, leaving us to make our own decisions regarding good, evil and the death penalty. Minnie Driver and Jeremy Renner compete with the screenplay for our attention.
Screened at the Sarasota Film Festival 2008
| The story here is so powerful and brutal that most of the time the audience is holding its collective breath to see how it will fill in. This is a non-linear, time shifting film that is so well directed and acted it will take some thought to figure out all of the clues and nuances that Charles Oliver, director, has left you. Minnie Driver, the incredible mother, and Jeremy Renner, the addicted gambler, are remarkable.
