| Alan Alda provides an exceptional performance as an aging recluse, while Matthew Broderick chases after him, saving him from himself and others intent on taking advantage of his perceived and actual mental lapses. A strong cast provides just the right support for a madcap script that’s mostly comedy – if senile dementia can be considered funny. Alda dominates the film as he resurrects Hawkeye Pierce’s character, with both the funny and serious aspects, to show us the best and worst of growing old in a healthy body.

| What you need to know about this movie is that Alan Alda is brilliant and Matthew Broderick is just great in this comedy about family and aging. And the people that should not miss this are baseball fans, in particular Cub fans. What a hoot. Laugh out loud fun.
