| An engaging movie, despite the violence. As always, the Coen brothers provide entertainment by surprising us at unexpected intervals. A movie hard to describe and even harder to explain. Definitely a movie “to talk about”, though one should think a lot, first.
As entertainment it is engaging, though challenging. As for the “meaning”, it would probably take a semester’s seminar to adequately dissect it; ………..or is it just entertainment?
| To say that this is violent may be an understatement. But to say that this is a special film is not over-stated. Once again the Coen Brothers (directors, screenplay writers) bring to the screen a story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I came out of the theater exhausted because I never quite knew what would happen next. Tommy Lee Jones (the law), Javier Bardem (the penultimate bad guy), Josh Brolin (the good guy), Woody Harrelson (a funny bad guy) all make for a wonderful cast of characters.
