| The third following Jason Bourne through Robert Ludlum’s trilogy. Surprisingly, just as good if not better that the first two. This summer has been unusual – not in producing sequels, but in producing excellent sequels. Live Free or Die Hard; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; Bourne. All sequels, all very good.
As Jason Bourne, Matt Damon seems to find an inner self that connects with the character. Not since Sean Connery played James Bond have I found the merging of character and actor so complete. The action is tight, the suspense tingling and the special effects not only realistic, but believable. The film sequel may actually be better than the third novel. Decide for yourself.
| Once again we meet Jason Bourne trying to find his roots. And once you figure out that that is what is going on (it takes a few minutes) you are in for a very good couple of hours. Matt Damon could be “confused” with James Bond without the hi-tech “toys” to aid him but it would be difficult to replace Damon with another actor as has happened many times with Bond. This seems to be a role that he has created on screen and he is consistently excellent in the part.
