| An ‘indie’ that helps us understand the conflict between emigrants wanting/needing to assimilate, their feeling of isolation, the desire to be accepted, and the comfort and safety of the familiar. A film that will be timely, at any time.
| This is a moving and educational story about a family. It is mainly a look at the relationship of a father and his only son. Educational because it explores the cultural differences and challenges that an immigrant family (Bengali in this case) may face when they take up residence in a new country. The viewer can’t help but “take sides” in the struggles that this family faces.
