| An interesting comment on our multicultural society, the shrinking world and post-9/11 paranoia. The film itself is choppy, sometimes intentionally so. Nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, more so for its substance than either the acting, directing or cinematography. Compares favorably with Crash, the 2005 Best Picture winner.
| A cleverly weaved story in 3 different locations all involving language barriers of one sort or another. The acting is impeccable by everyone in a very difficult screenplay. Exceptional is the performance given by Adriana Barraza as the “Mexican nanny” to 2 young children. There are many twists and turns to this film and it isn’t resolved until the closing scenes. Well worth your time and energy.
Directed by: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu
