Rocky Balboa

Movie Review by Phil & Carol
Phil - Worth the Matinee PriceCarol - Must See Now!
Of course after four (or five?) other “Rockys” its time to move on. But as far as inspirational movies for the Baby Boomer Generation – especially if you’re from Philadelphia (and we are!) – this one’s as good as most. So enjoy the scenes and memories, take the moral – that you can never lose if you try – and apply it to a new stage of your life. This story will touch you, especially if you are a Philadelphia supporter. Sylvester Stallone as Rocky has been “around” for as long as time - at least it seems that way. He epitomizes what’s good about the “real” city. From the first Rocky where we initially encountered our hero with his street toughness and internal softness, we have loved him. This current (and last?) Rocky is a tribute to all that is good about these films. Sure it’s sentimental and predictable, but it is also touching and warm, sending a strong message about what’s right; with a bit of heroism thrown in for good measure. Director: Sylvester Stallone
