| An engrossing story that purportedly tells the beginning history of the C.I.A. Matt Damon delivers a gripping portrayal of the alleged father of U.S. counter-intelligence. Be prepared for a long movie, strong enough to keep you glued to your seat – not so much by action or suspense; rather by sheer drama. Kudos to a strong director ( Robert DeNiro) to keep us motivated through three hours.
| This gripping 3 hour film is well paced and well acted. If it weren’t both of these it would be VERY long. It is like reading a complicated novel; stay with it; don’t take any bathroom breaks and you’ll come out of the theater with a very good understanding of how our CIA began. Matt Damon is exceptional in his role as the “steady” constant in the organization. It must have taken much control and discipline by director Robert De Niro to keep the same steady pace throughout the film.
