| Seems as though we get at least one (if not 5 or 6) inspirational sports movie each season, usually inspired by a true story. Very few are new, or creative. Same with this one. On the other hand, Matthew McConaughey was terrific – maybe not Oscar quality, but very, very good.
| At least once a year, we are treated to a “true, inspirational story” on screen. Here we have such a film, the story about the devastating plane crash that killed almost the entire Marshall University football team in 1970. Unfortunately this doesn’t really evoke much emotional response from the viewer. A rather pedestrian storyline.
